IS YOUR WORK SHIT? GIVE IT SOME BABES.

STUDIO OF THE BABES is an independent content production and creative direction boutique making work for babes, by babes. We work in both commercial and grassroots spaces, platforming the voices of female, queer, trans and non-binary artists and audiences throughout the creative process.

We make sure that everything and everyone represented within our work is treated fairly and just and, within commercial spaces we aim to only work with brands that exemplify (or, at least, are more than satisfied with) our core values.

As a brand owned by a mixed White and Asian person, we make sure that at least half of those working with us during every creative process come from those of Global Majority backgrounds. We strongly believe in accountability, growth culture and reflection, so if we fall out of alignment with Babehood, we always let each other know as soon as we can.

SOTB is part of the wider OF THE BABES network, also including queer-feminist cultural publication PLANET OF THE BABES, as well as future PLANET OF THE BABES parties. We’re currently based in London, England, but we hope to eventually sprinkle our glitter all around the world.

As we’ve only just started up, we are looking to take on our first few clients. If this sounds like you, head to our services page to see if we’re the best fit for you, then hit us up!

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

LYLANI (she/they) is a queer, neurodivergent, mixed-race multidisciplinary artist and writer from East London.

An alumnus of D&AD’s alternative ad school, Shift, they are currently nurturing their queer cultural publication, PLANET OF THE BABES, as well as its in-house studio, STUDIO OF THE BABES.

They are also known for their work with conscious creative studio, KIND, where they’ve worked with clients such as TikTok, Marshall and The AIDS Plays Project.

As a writer, LYLANI has penned for publications such as It’s Nice That, Creative Lives in Progress, THIIIRD and Theatre Weekly. They have been trained in arts criticism by The Stage’s lead critic, Tim Bano.

They were queer supervenue The Glory’s go-to photographer from 2017–2023 and, again in 2023, curated the annual exhibition for the University of the Arts London’s student union.
